One down for Chelsea ;-)

I myself often wondered what difference does a coach make if you provide him the best players in the world, any tom, dick and harry can pick up an eleven and win the game. But after watching the Carling cup final today, it was pretty much clear. While a Jose Mourinho would have guided Chelsea through the final with clinical, though often boring, efficiency. An Avam Grant couldn't bring it on in his team when it mattered the most, the football was same boring one, but the efficiency was missing when it mattered the most.

As for Spurs, the journey from the relegation zone at the start of the season to defeating Arsenal and then Chelsea has been phenomenal. The manager is what made the difference, while Martin Jol couldn't get his team win a game, Juande Ramos is doing wonders with almost the same team. It could be start of an special era for Spurs from now on and Ramos could prove to be the next special one.

  • Can't disagree this time..

Chelsea played really badly and did not deserve to be winners..

abt the coach, well sounds true...
He has a couple of real good assistants, so I guess that might have helped him till now...

And still I don't agree with Chelsea being a boring team :-)
They are as boring as Arsenal or any other team :-D

  • Com on hitting the ball isn't football game, I am talking about the fluency of passing the free flowing, beautiful and attacking game that teams like Arsenal, Barcelona and some times Manchester United too play.
Anyways seems you never watch good teams play so nothing more to say on that.

  • Dude..

    Jog your memory a bit...
Arsenal under Wenger did not play free flowing football or whatever you talk about ...

The style was developed later...Now, you have players who have flair and they are good to watch...

And btw, football is not all about attacking and scoring goals...
Football can be played like chess too...
Its fun to watch football when one team just stonewalls the opposition too...

for long, some ppl have monopolized the watching of the game saying that free flowing and attacking football is the only way to play...
    guess, some fans disagree :-)

I know the above lines are a bit incoherent but I am a bit deprived of sleep..so there..
Will rant on this topic more sometime later!

  • Hehehe...
Good job hari, defending Chelsea all by urself... :D

As for the match i completely agree with asif (except for the boring part :)). Chelsea missed Jose, they played soul-less football.

I was really disappointed. Also, i don't think Spurs played football of execptional quality. They were just lucky tht Jose was not there. Otherwise they would have walked home empty handed.
